Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community offered condolences for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
