Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the White House.

He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their honor.

Presidential Offer

The president explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president told reporters. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees came together over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the individual that educators desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Measures and Government Changes

Authorities have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and cease providing visas to owners of travel documents.

Condition of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she also intended to visit the family.

Impact of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with honor, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” he informed the gathering at the service. “Though her life ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
